If you want a response from Colin (source:

If you would like a response, then you must include a self–addressed envelope (SAE), along with sufficient return postage.

The envelope: It’s probably wise to make the envelope a C4 size, to allow for a 10×8 headshot.

The return postage: Make sure you include enough postage! You are unlikely to get a response unless you make it happen. (Some people, including Richard Wilson, have been known to be generous about covering return postage, but you shouldn’t rely upon it.)

This means, if you live in the UK, checking with the Post Office whether you need more than a First Class stamp. Put a stamp of sufficient value on your self–addressed envelope.

If you live outside the UK, you need to include as many IRCs (International Reply Coupons) as necessary, and maybe one or two more to be sure, along with your self–addressed envelope. You can buy these at your local post office. Check with them about how many IRCs you will need, based on your country and the size/weight of the envelope.

If you live in the US, you can order IRCs online. Go to The Postal Store, and purchase an International Reply Coupon.

Wherever you live in the world, you should be able to order UK stamps from the Royal Mail website, though it seems you need to order a minimum of ten at a time. You can check the prices based on location and weight here, and buy stamps here.

Fan Mail Etiquette

Fan mail is usually screened by a staff member or assistant, and only a select few are passed on to Colin. Here are some guidelines to make sure your letter gets through:
         ★ Be brief.
         ★ Spell his name correctly.
★ Other than a picture or autograph, don’t ask for anything.
★ Don’t give him anything. Fan art is fine, but avoid bulky, suspicious-looking packages.
★ Avoid sending items that may be damaged in transit.
★ Don’t mention that you have a shrine dedicated to him.
★ Don’t reveal your sexual fantasies that include him.
★ Lastly: Do not send photos of you or Anthony Weiner portions of you!

How long will it take to get a response from Colin?

Colin Morgan is a very busy person. Understand that it might take him three months or more to respond to your fan mail. Do not write follow-up letters requesting that he respond to your request quickly, or checking on its status. He will respond as quickly as he can!

Important Note

Colin Morgan does not have a Twitter, Facebook, blog, or any other social platform on the internet. So beware of imposters!

Here’s a direct quote from Colin himself: “I’m not a big Internet user. I don’t do blogs or Facebook or Twitter or anything like that. The only thing I have is an email account.” (12/19/11)
